The RNG is heavy in this one though (it works on the premise of hit chance=(100-defence)%, which gets annoying to some), so if you can't live with the fact that RNG might want to ruin your plan and make you miss everything/make the enemy hit every single time and have your units die as a result, I suggest to not play this. It runs on basically any OS that mankind has made in the last couple years thanks to it being opensource and free, and unless if you're playing iOS (which costs around $3 because something about compiling costs), the ports are all free, but PC/Linux works best for the game. Wesnoth (full name: Battle for Wesnoth, as Wesnoth is technically the name of the human kingdom in the game's lore) is a turn-based fantasy tactics game which has good-quality campaigns, balanced multiplayer, and a ****ton of addons (not all of them are good though caveat emptor). I'll try to find it, but I'll give you a brief summary. Used to have a thread back when I wasn't wandering. I don't like to port to something that's going to be obsolete in a couple of months, and I don't fancy playing Wesnoth without my favourite 1.12 mods, so I won't port to 1.13/development version. Screenshots will be posted when I have time to play another round.Įdit and IMPORTANT NOTE: The mod's only on the 1.12/stable version. Some guy on the Wesnoth forums has playtested (I think?) and submitted a list of changes, so it should be slightly more balanced with the econs than before. I kinda can't link to it because y'know, addon server and all that, but the name of the addon is 'Fall of the Western Roman Empire', published by 'Transfermium' (yours truly). Said mod is a 4v5 battle, depicting the fall of the Roman Empire, on a map of the late Western Roman Empire, with painstakingly-researched Latin names for villages and castles. I've restarted my Fallen London, took up the championing for the Italicists as a hobby in T he Great Boldist-Italicist War a satire subreddit, and published my mod for Wesnoth. 1) Legend of the Invincibles - Massive campaign that has lot of power ups, lot of new units, goodies and RPG like nature. Probably there are a lot of campaigns I haven't played, but this particular ones are my favorites. So, I've been busy during my wanderings. The Battle for Wesnoth is a Free, turn-based tactical strategy game with a high fantasy theme, featuring both single-player, and online/hotseat multiplayer. To the Lands Unknow -> Well, since inferno8 did that masterpiece I've played it about 7 times with my friends (it's not multiplayer but a friend of me changed it a bit for controlling the oponent sides). I had to try it 4 times till I manage to finish every scenario (they're not difficult but I got bored and I couldn't play it just in a row). Swamplings -> Funny one but the end became a bit boring and hard to do. Devil's flute -> The last UMC I've played, and maybe the funniest one, I loved it but it still lacked some work when I played it. Also good campaigns, I only disliked the world map method, but I know people who have enjoyed a lot this innovation. Bad moon rising -> Complete new era and amazing artwork. Fate of a princess -> Powerful romantic storyline, it mixes perfectly role playing and battling, I've played it twice, and its a very long campaign XD. I think this is fairly personal but my favorites add-ons are the following ones (in order XD (It was a joke, they're all very good, giving them an order will be an insult for the rest).
